MIFFLINBURG - Work on the Elias Center for the Performing Arts, 212-214 S. Fifth St., soon will be finished.
According to officials, the outbuilding nearly is complete, including plumbing and electric for lighting, bathrooms, heat and air conditioning.
Exterior final touches in progress include the addition of a patio that links the Elias with the outbuilding and provides ADA accessibility.
Still under construction — but soon to be completed — is the patio, linking the Elias Center for the Performing Arts in Mifflinburg with the outbuilding that houses the restrooms and is ADA accessible.
Also finished is the new sign at the front of the grounds, announcing the location of the Elias Center for the Performing Arts.
The outbuilding was made possible by a state grant, acquired with the assistance of state Sen. E. Eugene Yaw's office, the efforts of volunteers and the assistance of students and faculty from SUN Area Technical Institute.
Proceeds of memberships in the Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization Association, donations and events benefit historic preservation efforts and historic property maintenance including the Elias Center, the Weirick House and the little log house, as well as business assistance and revitalization work.
