For decades our region's experience with the energy industry has been at the retail level.
For example, pumping gas, or changing the propane cylinder on a grill, have been the closest contact most of us have had with the energy industry.
Now, however, we are experiencing the production side of the energy industry. And, it is not nearly as neat, clean, or convenient as the retail side.
For example, the increased traffic, the impact on the landscape by pipelines and well pads, and concerns about the environment, have made a lot of people uneasy about the energy industry's presence in our region.
All this makes me wonder how we would react if we had to experience the production side of all the items we use or consume?
