Aug. 31 - The Wilderness Survival Skills Challenge. 1:30-4 p.m. Would you like to discover just how well you might be able to survive in the wilderness without a cellphone, iPod or iPad or other electronic device, and with only what you may be carrying in your backpack? Would you be able to set up a shelter, make a tool or weapon to gather food with, set up a campfire, figure out what you could eat, and do it all in less than two hours? Well, if you'd like to give it a try, come to the visitor's center/park office and bring pocket knives, water and hiking shoes necessary.
