Charles Lee Sechrist, 93, of Jersey Shore, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Jersey Shore, and was one of thirteen children of George and Jenny (Hoover) Sechrist.
Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II.
He attended the Calvary Baptist Church.
Charles was married to the former Margaret Miller, with whom he shared 75 years of marriage.
He was self-employed as a stone mason.
Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and logging.
He loved trains, watching deer and anything that had to do with the outdoors.
Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Charlotte (Russ) Eisley of Jersey Shore, Laura (Carl) Roupp of Cogan Station and Sylvia Jean Todd of Jersey Shore; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Daniel Todd.
Relatives and friends are invited to Charles' Life Celebration service on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson St., Jersey Shore with Rev. Jeffrey Howell officiating. A visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
