Edward H. Ade, 74, of Loyalsock, died on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Valley View Nursing Center. He and his wife, the former Kathleen Connelly, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Sept. 16.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1939, in Williamsport and was the son of Melvin and Helen Quigel.
Edward was a 1957 graduate of Montoursville High School. He retired in 1999 from the Schnadig Corp after 42 years with the company. He enjoyed puzzles, yard work and family game nights. He was happiest when doing home improvement projects and serving as the steadfast handyman for friends and family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Edward "Butch" (Laurie) Ade Jr., of Loyalsock, David Ade and his partner Paul Steinke, of Philadelphia, Douglas (Jennifer) Ade, of Loyalsock; one daughter, Jennifer (James) Ellis, of Loyalsock; three brothers, Ernie Quigel, Texas, Raymond Quigel, Fla., William (Arlene) Quigel, Hatboro; twelve grandchildren, Haley Ade, Brie Ade, Mackenzie Ade, Mallory Ade, Bailey Young, Noah Young, MaKenna Young, Jaime Ellis, Jackson Ellis, Julie Ellis, Joey Ellis, Jocelyn Ellis; and his niece and nephew, Ann Louise and Lester Yeagle, who were also lifelong friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Quigel and two sisters, Alice Stephenson and Dorothy Hendry. He will be greatly missed by his family including his two dogs, Charlie and Maggie.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will provide flowers and suggests that memorial contributions in Edward's name be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2801 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA, 17701 and Valley View Nursing Center, 2140 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, PA, 17754.
