Taxpayers slam-dunked

September 10, 2013
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Last week the county commissioners gave two non-profits $180,000 for placement, redirection, construction of utilities. These funds are part of the gas impact fee money, given to the county by the state. The funds' selection of the nonprofits is a legal question. The taxpayers in the county are still replacing their sewer lines, installing lines under mandates. The roads, bridges need replaced and repaired. The YMCA, Susquehanna Health receiving these funds have displaced many families. Mr. Kelly, if anyone got slam-dunked, the county taxpayers did!
