William J. Kuhns Jr., 85, of 108 Loyalsock Manor Road, Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Montoursville, a son of William J. Sr. and Irene Haviland Kuhns.
William was a World War II Navy Veteran, retired from the former Bethlehem Steel and had been a Deputy Game Protector with the PA Game Commission.
He was a member of the Eureka Lodge No. 335 F&AM, charter member of the Loyalsock Men's Club and a member of the Easy Climb and Wallis Run Hunting Clubs. William enjoyed hunting, fishing and guns.
William was predeceased by his parents; wife of 66 years, the former Elizabeth Keiser; and two sisters, Margaret "Peg" Bower and Betty Schmery.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon K. (Stephen) Bender, of Montoursville; granddaughter, Michelle L. (Jason) Metzger; and three great-grandchildren, Emerson Rane, Kaden and McKenzie.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Connie A. Waugh officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m.
