William P. Kilcoyne Sr., 79, of Hughesville died Sept. 18, 2013, at his home. He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., a son of the late Thomas and Ethel (Minier) Kilcoyne. Aug. 31, 1957, he married Lois D. Wertz, who survives.
Bill graduated from Hughesville High School, Class of 1952. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955, spending 18 months in Germany, following machinist school. He retired from Young Industries in 1993 as a foreman after over 35 years of service. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He loved his many trips out west to hunt mule deer and elk.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by a son, William P. (Tracy) Kilcoyne Jr., Hughesville; two grandchildren, Aaron and Jena Kilcoyne; two step-grandchildren, Ron Horton and Desiree Maurer; six great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alyssa Maurer, Karlee and Kameron Horton, Makayla Day and Khristopher Farley; a brother, Michael (Eleanor) Kilcoyne, Picture Rocks; and two sisters, Mary (Carl) Bigger, Hughesville and Patty (Harold) Schultz, Hughesville.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Colby Horton.
Private services will be held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
