Ted A. Barclay, 71, of Jersey Shore, died Sept. 19, 2013, at The Gatehouse.
Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1942, in Homestead, he was the son of Fred Kerbey and Freda (Espey) Barclay. He married Linda (Arnoldin) Barclay and celebrated 50 years of marriage on Aug. 29 of this year.
He was a 1960 graduate of South Williamsport Area High School. After serving as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He retired as yardmaster from Norfolk Southern after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Dietrick Lamade Lodge No. 755; Williamsport Consistory; Forty & Eight; American Legion; and the Williamsport Bridge Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Fred K. Barclay, of Coatesville; son, Col. Keith A. Barclay, of Saegertown, and wife, Denita, and three children, Camden, Alexander and Brendon; daughter, Kimberly A. Scott, of Jersey Shore, and her husband, Ron, and three children, Jacob Barclay, Katherine Barclay and Michael Bower; and son, Douglas David Barclay, of Boston, Mass.
The family will welcome visitors at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Private interment will follow at a later date at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
