Frank A. Sbelgio, 72, of Tiffin, Ohio, died at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Rochester, N.Y., to Frank and Angeline (Cassine) Sbelgio. He married Elaine Wyant Sept. 8, 1962, in Auburn, N.Y., and she survives.
They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Other survivors include two sons, James Sbelgio, of Tiffin, Steven (Kim) Sbelgio, of Auburn, N.Y., and a daughter, Nancy Barbara Sbelgio of Tiffin; six grandchildren, Anthony, Vincent, Nicholas, Emily, Louis and Matthew Sbelgio, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Ann Sbelgio.
Frank was a 1959 graduate of Madison High School in Rochester, N.Y. He was a lifetime radio broadcaster in New York, Pennsylvania and Tiffin, Ohio, using the on-air name of "Frank Barber." He was known as "the Voice of Seneca County," and was a lifelong sports enthusiast. Frank loved the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians as well as Syracuse basketball. He was a good husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Auburn, N.Y.
