George E. Lepley Sr., 82, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. He and his wife Patricia (Koch) Lepley celebrated their 63 wedding anniversary this past Aug. 6.
Born April 8, 1931, in Milton, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Blanche (Kline) Lepley. George was a graduate of Hepburnville High School and attended Mansfield University.
He was a farmer early in his career. George retired from AVCO Lycoming where he worked as a machinist. George was a member of the Newberry Church of Christ. He was an avid fast-pitch softball player, playing from age 16 to well into his 70's. He loved sports and attending sporting events with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

George was a Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia are seven children: George E. (Connie) Lepley Jr., of Cogan Station, Dennis L. (Carol) Lepley, of Cogan Station, P. Rand (Lori) Lepley, of Williamsport, Sherry (Greg) Derr, of Cogan Station, Terry (companion Lisa) Lepley, of Millville, Jim (Tammy) Lepley, of Williamsport, and Dodi (Jeff) Gower, of Cogan Station; grandchildren, Rachael (Jamie) Joy, Jason (Abbey), Jacob (Veronica), Sarah (Brian), Tiffani (Rob) Ault, Lance (Amber), Tricia (Brian) Crossley, Bobbi Jo (Jeff) Villello, Joshua (Melissa), Abbi (Brimmer) Engel, Romey (Heather), Anthony (Amber), Matt (Gina), Vanessa (Justin) McKernan, Rose, Michael, Kelly, Nicole, Mike, Jordan, Steven, Markus, Grace, Wayne; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, Hannah, Sophia, Olivia, Aubrey, Ryan, Rebekah, Gabrielle, Melanie, Cameron, Adrien, Grant, Porter, Reagan, Kacen, Ocie, Teagan, and Karly; siblings, Helen (Richard) Mitchley, of Williamsport, Donald (Arladean) Lepley, of Cogan Station, Raymond (Patricia) Lepley, of Liberty; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Lepley, of Williamsport; and a foster son, Steve Wright of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Lepley; a sister, Esther Irwin; and a foster son, Tracy Barto.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Newberry Church of Christ, 2101 Linn St., Williamsport, with Pastor Ronald D. Savits officiating.
In keeping with his wishes, burial and visitation will be private.
