Helen Jane Buttorff, 95, of 1715 Clarion Drive, died on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at the Gatehouse. Her husband, Kenneth Buttorff, passed away in March.
She was born on Jan. 24, 1918, in Williamsport and was the daughter of Elwood and Lydia Neece Born.
Helen was a 1936 graduate of Williamsport High School and Potts Business College. She was employed by PA Department of Highway as an equipment and payroll clerk. Helen was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Antes Fort, the DuBoistown Garden Club and DAR. She enjoyed camping, boating, crafts, and her family.
She is survived by two sons, Gary M. Buttorff and Richard W. and wife, Sally Buttorff, of Dallas, Pa.; a daughter, Janice Snyder Hepler, of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Barbie Byrne, Guy Snyder III; two step-grandchildren, Jesse Hepler, Cassie Hepler; and nine grandchildren, Brooke, Cassie, Lauren, Allyssa, Gracie, Elaina, Jake, Samantha and Jon. She was predeceased by a brother, Elwood Born and a son, Robert K. Buttorff.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
