JenNee C. Haley, 75, of 34198 Pleasant Lake Drive, Carthage, N.Y., died late Saturday evening, Sept. 28, 2013, in the University Hospital, Syracuse, where she has been a patient for three months.
Mrs. Haley was born in Williamsport, on May 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Frank and Leoda Cope DeWalt. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She married Jeremiah J. Haley on Dec. 12, 1957, in Williamsport. The couple moved to Carthage in 1964 after Mr. Haley accepted a teaching position with Carthage Central School. She was a stay at home mom and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her husband, Jeremiah J. Haley, of Carthage; a son, Jeremiah Jr., of Watertown; three daughters, Christine Lemon (Richard), of Hailey, Idaho, Margaret McKane (Timothy), of Leavenworth, Kan. and Catherine Calender, of Carthage, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Kate McKane, of Lawrence, Kan. and Joseph McKane, of Leavenworth, Kan.; a sister, Joan Hunter (Richard) of Montoursville; a half sister, Donna (Thomas) Hartland, of Montoursville; and two step-brothers, Robert Hall, of Montoursville, and Richard Hall, of Williamsport; also brother-in-law, Paul Haley (Bonnie), of Ogdensburg, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services or calling hours at this time. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage, N.Y.
