MANSFIELD - Billie Sue Atkinson, 44, of 35 Pleasant St., Blossburg, was charged by state police after they found her sitting in the middle of Morris Run Road in Morris Run, Hamilton Township, Sept. 27.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, she was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after police were dispatched for a report of a woman blocking traffic.
Police said Atkinson said she was sitting there because "too many kids have died on these roads."
She was unsteady in footing and smelled like alcohol, police said.
When they asked her for her name, Atkinson allegedly came at police in a hostile move and refused to cooperate, using profanity.
She continued to yell and be hostile toward police, prompting them to Taser her in the chest.
She was uncooperative with ambulance personnel as well, police said and kept sliding her handcuffs from back to front.
She had to be secured in a transport belt and handcuffs to keep her from slipping them to the front.
She was released on $2,500 bail and her preliminary hearing continued pending recusal of the district judge.
