WELLSBORO - Christine A. Moore, of Christine A. Moore Millinery in New York City, will hold a trunk show and luncheon at noon Sunday, presented by The Fifth Season at The Dean Center for the Performing Arts, 100 Main St.
Moore is known for her amazing racing hats and has been on the "Today Show" four times, "Access Hollywood" and the "Martha Stewart Radio Show."
NBC calls her the "Hat designer for the Triple Crown," and the "premier hat designer of the Kentucky Derby."
This year she is the official Milliner for Breeders' Cup 2013 Race of Champions at Santa Anita, Calif, Nov. 1 and 2.
Her hats have been featured in many fashion magazines, including covers of InStyle, with Katy Perry, Vogue, with Jennifer Lopez and Sense Magazine, with Chantal Sutherland, as well as many others.
On Oct. 30, Christine's hats will be featured in an episode of "Nashville."
The luncheon will feature a discussion on fashion and trends, a fashion show and a Skype conversation with Patti Ethington of Louisville, Ky., who owns four of the largest derby hats ever designed by Christine A. Moore Millinery, and one of which is in the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Moore is originally from Pennsylvania and has deep roots in the Wellsboro community where she has vacationed since her childhood. The Dean Center is the perfect venue to speak at.
Moore studied theatre and costume design and worked at the Walnut Theatre in Philadelphia.
In NYC she made many hats for Broadway shows before starting her company in 1994.
