All students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades at C.E McCall Middle School have the opportunity to run for a student council position.
The positions available are secretary, first vice president, second vice president and treasurer. This position is kept the remainder of the year.
The student council's job is to arrange school dances and arrange fun days. This year I ran for the secretary. The first step is to get on the ballot. In order to do that I had to get a petition with 27 signatures.
After that I had to write a speech stating why we would be a good part of the student council and make some realistic promises.
Finally, I got to design a cool poster with my picture on it to hang up in the commons. Even though I didn't win the election, I still had fun campaigning.
It was a great experience. Wonder what else I could do next? Well, until next time!
