Woodward Township Fire Chief Richard Whalen, along with an unidentified emergency responder from DuBoistown, both perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an unresponsive motorcyclist who crashed where Route 15 South and Interstate 180 East merge in the city about 3:45 p.m. Sunday. The two came upon the crash minutes after it happened. In the photo, emergency workers prepare to move the cyclist, Joseph Bucher, 43, of Lewisburg, to a stretcher minutes after he was revived. He was taken to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center by ambulance. City police did not know what caused Bucher to drive off the highway and into the grass. Concerning Wednesday night’s one-car crash on Interstate 180 near the Fairfield Road interchange, state police identified the driver as Ty Day, of Williamsport, who escaped injury. His passenger, Avery Maxon, 19, also of Williamsport, remained in critical condition, a nursing supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, said Sunday night.
