TOWANDA - The Bradford County Regional Arts Council's (BCRAC) National Theatre Live series will continue today with the National Theatre (London) production of Shakespeare's "Othello" at 12:30 p.m. at the Keystone Theatre, 601 Main St., Towanda.
A second show will be offered at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
Olivier Award-winning actor Adrian Lester takes the title role. Playing opposite him as the duplicitous Iago is fellow Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear, who is reunited with director Nicholas Hytner following their acclaimed collaboration on the National Theatre's recent production of "Hamlet."
National Theatre Live is the London National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre live from the London stage to cinemas across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Each live broadcast is filmed in front of a live audience in the theatre with cameras carefully positioned throughout the auditorium to ensure that cinema audiences get the "best seat in the house" view of each production.
Camera placement is different for each broadcast to make sure cinema audiences enjoy the best possible experience every time. In addition to offering live broadcasts, productions are available "as live" for limited plays at additional venues.
