Warren C. Houseknecht Jr., 54, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at his home following an extended illness.
Born March 27, 1959, in Muncy, he was a son of Warren C. and Ninabelle (Ohmneiss) Houseknecht. He married Mary R. Danneker and celebrated 36 years together.
He worked as a sales representative at Susquehanna Paper for 36 years. Warren was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Warren D., of Williamsport and SSGT Matthew A. Houseknecht, of Dover, Del.; two daughters, Jennifer M. Brainard (Matthew F.) and Melanie A. Houseknecht, both of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Madison R. Houseknecht, Mackenzie L. Houseknecht, Issac M. Brainard and Ian M. Brainard; two brothers, twin brother Wayne C., of Williamsport, and Max R., of South Williamsport; one sister, Donna M. Fry, of Trout Run; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Michael J. Houseknecht, and a sister, Catherine R. Overdorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.
