Edward "Eddie" Buongiovanni, 72, of Casale Road, Cogan Station, and formerly of New York, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at his home.
Born March 27, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Borgogna) Buongiovanni. On May 16, 1964, he married the former Rosa Maria Mocci, who survives. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Eddie was a graduate of a Brooklyn High School. He began his career as a meat cutter in private butcher shops in Brooklyn. He later worked many years in the Commissary at the former Ft. Dix, now McGuire Air Force Base, Wrightstown, N.J.
Eddie was devoted to his family. He enjoyed good food and family celebrations.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Edward Paul Buongiovanni, of Jersey Shore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Mark Baum, of Linden and Denise and Harvey Wills, of Browns Mills, N.J.; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Joann Buongiovanni, of Long Island; one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Schneider, of Beverly Hills, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Mary Mocci, of Cogan Station; and five grandchildren, Harvey Wills III, Adam Wills, Ashley Wills, Drew Baum and Carter Butler.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Jerry, Johnny and Joseph Buongiovanni and two sisters, Dollie Tremenello and Philly Buongiovanni.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Christian Church at Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Road, Cogan Station, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m., with the church minister, Pastor Mark Beard, officiating.
Interment will follow in the mausoleum at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
