Doris S. DeWald, 82, of 406 S. Market St., Muncy, died Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Susquehanna Rehab Center at Muncy.
Born July 1, 1931, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Mary (Schmoel) Shook. Her husband of 46 years, Boyd B. DeWald, preceded her in death February 9, 2002.
Doris was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked in the High School Office for Muncy School District, at the former Smith Truck Lines, Inc. and at Custom Mill Works in Picture Rocks. Doris retired from the former Kaufmann's, now Macy's, at the Lycoming Mall.
Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy. She was a former member of the Muncy Business and Professional Women's Club.
Doris loved spending time with her family, friends and dogs. She also enjoyed working outside and playing cards.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis G. and Becky DeWald, of Muncy; and one grandson, Jonathan L. DeWald and his wife, Erica, of Muncy.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by one sister, Mary Ellen Lewis.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with her pastor, Rev. Arlene Beechert, officiating.
Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers, and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, PA 17756 or to the S.P.C.A., 2805 Reach Rd., Wiliamsport, PA 17701.
