Loleta F. "Tootie" Childs, 74, died after an extended illness Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at her home in Linden.
Born March 10, 1938, in DuBoistown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Zuber) Gross Sr. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald E. Childs on March 23, 2009.
Loleta was involved with the Ladies Auxillary of the Original Little League, and was the former President. She enjoyed shopping, reading, cooking and baking, and spending her time outdoors gardening.
Surviving are sons, Edward M. (Lori) II, and Joseph S. (Lori A. Regal), both of South Williamsport; daughter, Deborah L. (Michael) Clark, of Trout Run; grandsons, Matthew and Andrew (Nikki) Clark; and twin step-grandsons, Matthew and Michael Emerick. Loleta would have been a great-grandmother this December.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, twin brothers, Malvin and Marvin Gross, Charles Gross Jr., Ronald L. Gross and three sisters, Clara Mae Gross, Rae Cupp, and Muriel Passuello.
A private graveside service in Montoursville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
