The James V. Brown Library has "Got You Covered for Your Next Great Read."
That's the slogan of the new readers' advisory service, which is designed to help readers fall in love with a new book.
Library patrons may fill out an online questionnaire about reading habits, likes and dislikes. When completed, the library's team of library professionals will provide a list of 10 to 15 books available through the Lycoming County Library System complied into a Book Guide.
The questionnaire can be found in the Book Suggestions section of www.jvbrown.edu. Printed copies also are available.
Another new service on the library's website is BookPsychic. With BookPsychic, users can get quality suggestions drawn from the library's collection.
As more items on BookPsychic are rated, users will see more and better personalized suggestions for books, audiobooks, e-books and DVDs that are available.
Goodreads the largest website for readers and book recommendations in the world.
A home for casual readers and bona-fide bookworms alike, Goodreads users recommend books, compare what they are reading, keep track of what they've read and would like to read, find their next favorite book, form book clubs and much more.
When one becomes a Goodreads friend of the James V. Brown Library, they can see what new fiction and nonfiction titles (both in print and e-books) the library has, see what will be filling the shelves in the coming months, read reviews, check out staff picks and find suggestions for the next great read.
