Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:
The House voted 222-191 to pass a bill relating to the disapproval of the president's exercise of authority to suspend the debt limit. Voting in favor were U.S. Reps. Thomas A. Marino, R-Cogan Station, and Glenn "GT" Thompson, R-Howard.
No votes were cast.
The Lycoming County commissioners approved a $170,000 funding agreement of natural gas drilling impact dollars with the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority to go toward the South Williamsport water storage tank project. Voting in favor were Jeff Wheeland, Tony Mussare and Ernest Larson.
Jersey Shore Area School Board voted 8-0 to accept Superintendent Richard Emery's resignation and request for sick leave. Emery's resignation will be on sick leave until June 30, 2014, at which time his resignation will be effective. Voting in favor were board members Shelley Helm, Robert Pryor, Harry Brungard, Heather Williamson, Denise Smith, Harry Miller, Loren Koch and Karen Stover. Board member Craig Allen was absent.
