Woman accused of stealing wire
Trista Ann Myers, 28, of Van Buren Road, Jersey Shore, has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy for allegedly stealing wires from utility poles in the 200 block of Haleeka Road in Hepburn Township on Oct. 4, Old Lycoming Township police said.
She has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James H. Sortman. Two others, Zachary Brian Schreiber, and his girlfriend, Ashley Thompson, already have been charged in the case and are in jail on these offenses as well as others.
Man accused of beating woman
Derrick E. Tutler, 28, of 417 Hawthorne Ave., has been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly climbing on top of a woman and punching her in the face and head in the 100 block of West Third Street about 1 a.m. on Aug. 11, city police said.
Police said Tutler threw Chante James to the the ground and began attacking her.
Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Allen P. Page III, Tutler was released on $1,500. He was held court on all charges.
Man accused of stealing, pawning jewelry
Travis Christian Klinger, 26, of 733 Reuben Kehrer Road, Muncy, has been charged with allegedly stealing $2,700 worth of jewelry from Michaele Klinger's home at 2222 Mahaffey Lane and selling the items to pawnshops sometime between July 1 and Aug. 14, according to Old Lycoming Township police.
Klinger, formerly of the 500 block of Smokey Corners Road, Cogan Station, was arraigned last week before District Judge James H. Sortman and released on $10,000 bail.
Teen charged with bike theft
Jacob Daniel Wertman, 18, of 3172 Reeder Road, pleaded guilty last week to stealing a juvenile's bicycle from the 600 block of Spruce Street in Montoursville on July 2.
Borough police said the bicycle was quickly recovered soon after the theft.
After pleading guilty to theft, Wertman was ordered by District Judge Gary A. Whiteman to pay $1,062 in fines and court costs. He made arrangements to pay the owed amount.
As part of the guilty plea, borough police withdrew a charge of receiving stolen property.
Woman accused of shoplifting
Katie Mae Louise Clemens, 23, of 2815 Orchard Ave., has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she was caught allegedly trying to steal 10 articles of clothing valued at $256 from Kmart, 1915 E. Third St., on Sept. 10.
She has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman.
