JERSEY SHORE - At the Oct. 22 meeting of the Jersey Shore Kiwanis at the Jersey Shore Hospital, the vice president of the local chapter, Max Ameigh introduced, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the guest speaker for the evening, local breast cancer survivor Sue Danneker.
Danneker is from Linden and shared her story of overcoming her fight with breast cancer in the recent Susquehanna Health magazine and has been featured on several billboards around the area. She told her emotional story to members and guests of her fight with this disease.
The Breast Health Center's new digital equipment detected Danneker's tumor about two years earlier than she would have detected a lump in her breast.

Today Sue follows these simple practices of regular exercising, eating a healthy diet and include plenty of fruits and vegetables to help reduce her risk of a second bout with this disease.
