Douglas A. Moore Jr., went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. He loved his Lord and Savior and spent time each day praying and reading his Bible. Doug read through his Bible every year for the past twelve years. The circle is unbroken.
Douglas was an Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed fishing (from Tom's), hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He treasured how close his illness brought his family.
Doug was an antique dealer for 55 years. His last venture was as owner of the South Williamsport Antique Shop. He retired from Stroehmann's Bakery, warehouse division. He also owned Dockey's Service Station for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas Moore Sr. and Mary (Dockey) Moore and his siblings, Grover Moore, Virginia Moore and Mary Weaver.
He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Faye (Koch); his children, Deb (Rick) Geraty, Gloria (Jim) Russo, Becky (Mike) Balliet, Tina (Dan) Lord, Fawn (Noel) Carr and Douglas (Lori) Moore III; his grandchildren, Beverley, Jason, Heather, Michael, Matthew, Melissa, Staci, Colton, David, Jerico, Sarah, Leslie, Tabitha, Chanel, Haleigh, Nate; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his uncle, Grover Dockey.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Quiggleville United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin an hour before the service at 10 a.m.
The family wants to express our deepest gratitude to the Quiggleville Church and their choir. The heavenly music they sang to him during his last hours will always be cherished.
