Carl L. Schon, 81, of Cogan Station, and a guest at Valley View Nursing Center, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at the home. He was born April 16, 1932, in Hepburn Township, a son of LaRue and Alice M. Hakes Schon.
Carl retired from Shop Vac, and was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army. He was a member of the Jersey Shore V.F.W., the Hepburn Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting, and visiting with family and friends.
Carl is survived by his wife, the former Martha J. Hepburn, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage; a son, Oscar L. (Valerie) Schon, of Cogan Station; daughters, Jane P. (James) Blaker, of Loyalsock Township, and Sherry A. (Paul) Lowmiller, of Cogan Station; a brother, M. Edward (Joy) Schon, of State College; sisters, J. Marie (J. Henry) Stahl and Janet (Steve) Stiger, both of Williamsport; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Stoltz Cemetery.
