MONTOURSVILLE - A double act of tribute shows will come to Kristy's, 1130 Broad St., at 7 p.m. Saturday beginning with area entertainer Frank Fedele and his Roy Orbison tribute show, "Orbisonia."
This show will bring the most popular hits of the late Orbison, who died in 1988, to the stage. Fedele uses dialogue with the songs which chronicles the life of the artist. Fedele created the "Orbisonia" show in 2002, writing the dialogue after researching Orbison's life and biography.
The show will include Orbison's hits, such as 'Oh, Pretty Woman,' "Crying," "Blue Bayou," "Blue Angel," "Running Scared" and more.
Frank Fedele, a tribute artist, will perform the Roy Orbison tribute show “Orbisonia” this weekend at Kristy’s, along with a show featuring legends from the 1960s-’80s with Boomer Legends.
A painting exhibit titled “Native Sons and Other Stories” will feature the work of Danville artist Mary Lapos from Nov. 16 through Dec. 31 at Cherry Alley Cafe, 21 N. Third St., Lewisburg. The cafe will host a Meet the Artist event from noon to 2 p.m. each Thursday throughout the run of the show. Pictured is a work titled “Professor.”
The second part of the show will be the "Boomer Legends" tribute, which features some of the best hits from the '60s to the '80s. Fedele will perform all the lead vocals for both shows, and the Boomer Legends band will recreate the sounds of the original artists including Elvis, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, The Drifters, The Crests, Eric Burden (The Animals), Credence Clearwater Revival, The Bee Gees and Johnny Cash, among others.
There is no cover charge for the event, which will run until 10 p.m. For more information, call 570-777-4949 or contact Kristy's at 570-368-2436.
