Frederick L. Thompson III, 59, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 31, 1953, in Newark, N.J., the son of the late Frederick L. Sr. and Nealie (Brewer) Thompson.
Frederick was an U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was known as "Mr. Fred" in the community and a definite friend of the world.
Frederick was a member of the St. John's Lodge No. 26 of Williamsport, where he was a Past Worshipful Master.
He was owner and operator of the "Friend to the World gift shop."
He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Thompson, of Williamsport; a sister, Renee Brown. of Plainfield, N.J.; and one grandchild, Kai Gordon.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fred's Life Celebration service 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Burial will be held privately on Monday for the family.
