WELLSBORO - Florence A. Holley, 41, of 222 Main St., Apt. 2, Blossburg, was charged by borough police with theft of lost or mislaid property after she allegedly took cash from a wallet she found at the county courthouse before turning it in to sheriff's deputies.
According to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard's office, Holley found a wallet belonging to Mark Oldham outside the doors of the courthouse on Nov. 6 and took $300 in cash, leaving $100 inside.
Oldham had lost the wallet through a hole in his pocket as he was entering the courthouse that day.
Police said surveillance video showed her picking up the wallet and entering the courthouse with it, then turning around, exiting the courthouse and standing behind a pillar where she allegedly took the money and put it into her right pocket.
Oldham didn't realize the money was missing until he got to the grocery store after the fact.
She was issued a summons to appear at a Dec. 19 preliminary hearing.
