Warren B. "Pat" McCarty, 88, of 6 Franklin Drive, Elizabethtown, died Wednesday afternoon Nov. 20, 2013, at his home.
Born May 26, 1925, in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Roy R. McCarty and the former Letitia I. Kohler.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joyce M. Ritter. They were united in marriage June 18, 1946, in Jersey Shore.
Also surviving is a son, Patrick S. (Cathy) McCarty, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Pat was preceded in death by a son, Bruce K. McCarty.
For 20 years Pat honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of the Lock Haven State College and for 25 years was a geography and social studies teacher in the Neshaminy School District in Langhorn.
He was a member and past master of the Fairless Hills Lodge No. 776 F&A.M. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite, Williamsport Consistory, Crescent Shrine Temple and the Twelve Cedars of Lebanon. For many years he had played drums in many local bands.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Donald Harbaugh officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home. A masonic memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, conducted by the Labelle Vallee Lodge No. 232 F.&A.M.
Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.
Family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made in his name to the Masonic Village Hospice, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
