William N. Taylor, 93, of Williamsport, Pa died on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, with family by his side. He and his wife, the former Adelaide Baier, were married on April 20, 1985. He was predeceased by his first wife Evelyn Thiede Taylor.
He was born on July 17, 1920, in Newport, N.Y. and was the son of Nelson and Ruth Boynton Taylor.
Bill was a 1939 graduate of Binghamton High School and a 1943 graduate of Cornell University with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked more than 40 years for Esso and Mobil Oil. Bill served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army having worked on the Manhattan Project. Bill was a member of the Williamsport Civic Chorus. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and crossword puzzles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, James (Gale) Taylor Brookline, N.H., Richard (Carol) Taylor, Baldwin, N.Y., Donald (Susan) Taylor, Richmond, Maine; and one daughter, Judy Bogosian, North Andover, Mass; two stepsons, Richard (Kathleen) Adelman, Hendersonville, N.C., Stephen (Lynn) Adelman, Gaithersburg, Md.; two stepdaughters, Diane (Paul) Klein, Alberta, Canada, Carolyn (Daniel) Adelman, N.Y.; one sister, Helen (Dick) Crago, Marietta, Ohio; eight grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; and three step great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will provide flowers and suggests that memorial contributions in William's name be made to Cornell University, Chemical Engineering, Box 223623, Pittsburgh, Pa, 15251-2623.
