Beverly T. Hannibal, 47, of 910 Wayne Ave., has been accused of misrepresenting her oxycodone prescription at area pharmacies in late September, according to court papers.
A Wegmans pharmacist became suspicious after he noticed an incorrect National Provider Information number on Hannibal's prescription. He then contacted other area pharmacies and discovered additional oxycodone prescriptions had recently been filled for Hannibal from several doctors, court papers alleged.
Further investigating showed Hannibal had a prescription authorized by her doctor for 60 tablets of oxycodone and not 100, as was written on the fraudulent prescription, court papers said.
The prescription was printed on paper whose size was inconsistent with the paper used at Hannibal's doctor's office, court papers said.
Hannibal was recently arraigned by District Judge Allen P. Page III on charges of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, forgery, or deception, and possession of a controlled substance. She was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
