Luminaries being sold for 'Lights of Love'
JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Business and Professional Women will be selling luminaries for the "Lights of Love" event in honor of or in memory of loved ones to be lit on Christmas Eve at the Veteran's Memorial Park on the corner of Allegheny and Main Streets.
This is the fourth year selling the luminaries and proceeds will be split between the Jersey Shore Library and the YMCA.
Luminaries will be lit starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. If you wish to buy a luminary, contact Barb Schmoulder, BPW/PA past state president, at 570-398-0125.
Luminaries also will be on sale at Lingle's Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7.
Library to hold events
McEWENSVILLE - The Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 20 Church St., will hold the following events:
11 a.m. Wednesday - Preschool story time on "Thanksgiving."
11 a.m. Dec. 4 - Preschool story time on "Fall."
6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 - "Information at your Fingertips" workshop on Power Library e-resources. Registration required.
6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 - Board of Directors meeting.
11 a.m. Dec. 6 - "Bank on Books" program for preschoolers.
Music Explosion to play at pre-turkey night
MONTGOMERY - A pre-turkey night will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday at Montgomery American Legion Post 251. Music Explosion will play at the event.
There is no cover charge and the event is open to the public.
Fire company to hold annual supper
UNITYVILLE - The 54th annual all-you-can-eat buckwheat cakes and sausage supper will be held from 6 a.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Unityville Community Volunteer Fire Co., 100 Log Cabin Road.
Marine Corps League to sell hot dogs
MUNCY - The Williamsport Detachment Marine Corps League will sell hot dogs and sodas from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Gander Mountain.
Lycoming Creek Lions Club to sell Christmas trees
The Lycoming Creek Lions Club will be selling Christmas trees daily from noon until dark beginning Friday at Old Lycoming County Township Recycling Site.
The Club will offer fresh cut, pre-drilled Douglas and Fraser Fur Christmas Trees as well as Texas citrus fruit. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Christmas charity projects.
Library to hold Festival of Trees
LOCK HAVEN - The Annie Halenbake Ross Library will hold its annual Festival of Trees at its location at 232 W. Main St. Trees must be placed in the library and decorated by Saturday.
Artificial Christmas trees will be contributed and decorated by any local individuals, groups or businesses. Trees will be auctioned off through Dec. 14 and profits will benefit a cause of the tree creator's choosing. At the end of the auction, the winning bid may take their tree home.
