Archie E. Schleiff, 80, of Jersey Shore, passed away at his residence Friday afternoon, Nov. 22, 2013.
He was born in Kane, on June 15, 1933, a son of the late Walter E. Schleiff and Evelyna R. Dickinson. He is survived by his wife, June M. Schleiff.
He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School and has been a resident of Jersey Shore for most of his life.
He worked for Sylvania as a Department Supervisor for over 34 years before retiring.
He was a member of the VFW in Galeton, along with the Jersey Shore Moose, American Legion and Elks.
He had a love for the outdoors and his favorite pastime was trout fishing.
He is also survived by one brother, Edward (Betty) Schleiff, of Williamsport; one sister, Bessie (John) Berfield, of Jersey Shore; two sons, Greg Schlieff, of Jersey Shore and Steve Greene, of Carlisle; one daughter, Maxine (Kenneth) Comly, of Loganton; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Archie's Life Celebration memorial services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the Jersey Shore American Legion located at 320 Seminary St., Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
The Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," is handling the arrangements.
