On Oct. 3, Cody J. Jean, 22, allegedly attempted to smuggle heroin into the Lycoming County Pre-Release center in Montoursville. At the time, Jean was an inmate at the pre-release center, court documents alleged.
He was caught upon returning from work when the resident supervisor at the center searched him and found five packs of suspected heroin. The presence of heroin later was confirmed by a detective through a field test, said court documents.
Jean was recommitted to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail. He will appear before District Judge Allen P. Page III on Dec. 5 for a preliminary hearing on charges of contraband and possession of a controlled substance.
