Mary H. Kennedy, 97, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born May 26, 1916, in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Doris) Hughes.
Mary worked as an operator for Bell Telephone prior to retirement and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. Mary always had a smile and kind word for those around her. She was a loving and giving woman with an amazing sense of humor, a strong faith, and a positive outlook on life.
She was the loving wife of Kenneth J. Kennedy, MD who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Rosemary Kennedy and her siblings, Edward and John Hughes, Josephine Tyeryar, and Ann McLane.

Surviving is her daughter, Elizabeth Milyko and husband Michael, of Sparks, Nev.; her son, Kenneth "Skip" Kennedy and wife Elaine, of Mountain Top; her son, Peter Kennedy, of Enola; her grandchildren, Melissa, Ethan and wife, Kerri, and Shane Milyko and Ryan, Sean, and Megan Kennedy; as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaelin and Drazen Milyko.
Memorial services will be held at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, on Sat. Dec. 7, with visitation between 3 and 5 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 118 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, on Tues. Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Jersey Shore Cemetery following Mass.
