M. Pearl Tranor, 81, of Benton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Dec. 7, 2013. Her struggles with recent health issues came to an end in the arms of her husband of 65 years at Yuriatin, the Tranor residence.
Born July 10, 1932, in Millville, a daughter of the late Hurley L. and Bernice (Ortwine) Johnson, she attended the Millville School system and later proudly received her high school diploma from Leesburg Adult Education in Florida. Having been raised in the area and then starting a family on the Tranor farm in Lycoming County, she moved to Essington, PA.; living 14 years in Fruitland Park, Fla. For 36 years before returning to the area in 2007.
She was always a homemaker first, but occasionally a first class waitress and also worked as an assembler for Linton Industries and a dispatcher for the Fruitland Park Florida police department. She loved to read and to keep score for the local baseball teams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothy Mae Tranor and a son, David Lee Tranor who passed away in October 2008.
Pearl is survived by her husband Frank E. Tranor Jr, they were married Sept. 28, 1948; also survived by two sons, Frank E. Tranor lll and wife, Sandy, of Benton, and William C. Tranor and wife, Karen, of Fruitland Park, Fla; also seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larue Johnson, and wife, Pearl, of Millville and Francis Johnson, and wife, Cindy, of Lairdsville; and two sisters, Emma Smith and Gayann Gearhart, of Unityville.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, PA 17846, with Rev. Ron Montgomery, of St John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
