George S. Moyer, 83, of Cogan Station, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Rose View Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1930, in Syracuse, N.Y., he was the son of the late Wilber and Mary Moyer. He and his wife Amelia "Millie" (Schodt) Moyer, were married for 57 years.
George was the owner and operator of Maple Motors for over 25 years. He was a member of the Garden View Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge 106. He enjoyed dirt track racing with his car Pink Lady No. 18 and was a Penn State football fan. George was a veteran of the U.S Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Barbara (Lenny) Stroud, of Avis, Sharon (Lee) Grassmyer, of Cogan Station, Amy (Scott) Hammaker, of Old Lycoming; a sister, Margaret (Robert) Rathburn, of Monroeton; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Richmond and brother, James Moyer.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at Garden View Church of Christ, 1941 Princeton Ave., with his Pastor, Marty Coffey officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in George's name to Garden View Church of Christ.
