Wilson K. Doebler, 95, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1918, in Williamsport, son of the late Frank and Alvina Koch Doebler. He was married to Blanche L. Miller Doebler. He was previously married to Emily L. Ertel Doebler, who preceded him in death in 1975.
He was a member of the Saint Mark's Lutheran Church in Williamsport. He was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School. At the age of 18, in 1938, he started working for the Williamsport Foundry and later became Vice President in 1968. He was a member of the No. 106 Masonic Lodge for 70 years where he served as a Past Master in 1956. He was also a member of the Wilkes Barre Shriners.
He is survived by three sons, Walter W. Doebler (Margie), of Williamsport, Raymond E. Doebler (Liana), of Bloomsburg, Frank L. Doebler (Mary Lou), of Williamsport; one step-son, Richard H. Hester (Matilda), of Williamsport; one daughter, Emily L. Taylor (Gordon), of Williamsport; and two step-daughters, Susan A. Ulmer (Tom), of Montoursville, Sandy J. Krall (Mike), of Montoursville. He is further survived by 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wilson K. Doebler Jr.; two brothers, Alvin L. and Herman A. Doebler; and three step-brothers Reverend Harold, Herbert and Lloyd Doebler.
Wilson's Life Celebration services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the James C. Maneval Funeral Home where friends and relatives may call from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Wildwood Cemetery.
