A teenager driver in Texas killed four people while driving a car intoxicated. His punishment was probation. How is this possible? His lawyers convinced the court that he suffers from a debilitating disease, 'affluenza'. He was born and raised in wealth and therefore his judgment has been impaired. Apparently there is no cure, the wealth just keeps growing and the disease only gets worse with time.
So we cannot in any way fault the wealthy for their bad behavior; it is all their wealth that is the problem. Sounds like a good argument to relieve them of that wealth; wealth is a bad influence especially on the young.
Michigan Republican lawmakers have again passed a bill that would require women to purchase an extra insurance policy to cover an event caused by being raped or incest. The problem is there is no such policy from insurance companies. It also implies that women will in their lifetime be victims of rape and/or incest and it is up to them to be covered for such an event.
One is supposed to think of it like a flood. You never know when or if it will happen but you should have special coverage just in case. A regular health insurance policy will not do nor can you purchase a policy after the fact. You know for a political party who insists they are for keeping government out of lives they sure like to intrude in our lives whenever possible.
A six-year-old boy was suspended from school for kissing a girl. Sexual harassment was the cause for the suspension. Truthfully the only ones that should be charged with sexual harassment are the adults who handed down that charge in the first place.
Washington DC finally does something and in a partisan way and the conservatives groups still slammed it even before the details were revealed. We now have a possible budget deal for the next 2 years. That would be years not months.
It use to be Democrats and Republicans would snipe at one another now we have conservatives sniping at republicans and republican Senators are sniping at the republican House. Conservatives say 'Boo!' and republican politicians jump. It is that now they are talking back.
