MANSFIELD - Mansfield University is among the four safest campuses in the U.S. according to Safewise, a company provides reviews and resources on safety and security products for consumers.
In its review, Safewise said, "The University Police Department is focused on safety awareness and crime prevention first and foremost, taking responsibility to ensure that all members of the campus community remain safe to live, learn and work. In fact, this is the only university department that is staffed 24-7. In addition to round-the-clock patrols, police services include Community Concern Programs, Crisis Situation Programs, Drug and Alcohol Awareness and Operation ID."
"The safety of our campus and the well-being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is always of paramount concern," Fran Hendricks, MU president, said. "This is great recognition of the efforts of our Campus Police Services and Safety Department and the campus community as a whole."
In July, a report by StateUniversity.com showed Mansfield as the school with the number one safety rating among all Pennsylvania colleges and universities for 2012.
