When housekeeping employees went to Jason Thomas Butler's guest room at the Budget Inn Motel on Lycoming Creek Road on the morning of March 16, they found that the room practically had been destroyed, according to Old Lycoming Township police.
"All the light fixtures were damaged and smashed, and the screen to the flatscreen television set also was smashed," an officer said in an affidavit. The television was pulled out of the wall, police said.
Damage was in excess of $1,000, police said.
Police have charged Butler, 30, of 311 High St., Jersey Shore, with misdemeanor criminal mischief.
Police said Butler's girlfriend told them she and Butler traveled to the area so they "could buy drugs" and that the two spent the night at the motel. She told police she was not the one who damaged the room.
Butler has been sent a summons to appear before District Judge James H. Sortman.
