To all those people blaming retail businesses for being open on Thanksgiving and depriving their workers from spending time with their families, they are laying the blame in the wrong place.
If you want to know who to blame, all you need to do is look in the mirror. Blame yourselves and others who stood in line for several hours on Thanksgiving day waiting for stores to open. If there weren't such a demand, those stores wouldn't have opened.
If you want to ensure that businesses stay closed on Thanksgiving, the best way to do that is just simply to not shop that day. Period. When businesses realize that they won't be making any money that day, they will decide to close. The power is in your hands. Use it wisely.
