Dennis E. Fink, 68, of 149 Valley View Drive, Jersey Shore, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 29, 1944, in Berwick, he was a son of Earl and Suzanne (Roll) Fink.
Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Berwick High School. He received a degree in engineering from Williamsport Area Community College in 1966 and also a degree in horticulture in 1973. He had served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during Vietnam. Dennis retired in 2012 as an assistant proffessor of ornamental horticulture at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he received the Master Teacher Award in 1997. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church and the Jersey Shore Lions Club. He enjoyed model train collecting and photography.
Surving are his wife, Christine A. (Alexander) Fink, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage with on Sept. 12.; a daughter, Suzanne E. Phillipps and husband John Jr., of Jersey Shore; two grandchildren, Emily G. and Cole A. Phillips; two brothers, David C. Fink (Jane), of Jersey Shore and Douglas P. Fink (Bonnie), of Williamsport; sister, Mary Ann L. Donnelly, of Berwick; brother-in-law, Donald L. Alexander (Karen), of Jersey Shore; and sister-in-law, Darleen E. Dunkelberger, of Jersey Shore; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Crossroads Community Church, 1454 State Route 44 Highway, Jersey Shore, with his son-in-law, Pastor John H. Phillips Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Jersey Shore Veterans. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Community Church.
