Ronald L. Applegate, 60, of Lock Haven, died on Jan. 7, 2014, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1953, in Williamsport, the son of Charles O., Sr. and Lois M. Gordner Applegate.
Ronald retired as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Williamsport, was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Bower-Decker No. 251 American Legion, was an avid bowler and golfer, and was a part-time truck driver.
Preceding him were his parents; a son, Ronald L. Jr.; and a brother, James A.
Surviving are his wife, of 26 years, the former, Anna I. Harvey; two sons, Jeremy D. (companion, Jennifer) Cline, of Jersey Shore and Michael W. (companion, Karen) Applegate, of Watsontown; a sister, Donna M. Carson, of Muncy; three brothers, Charles O. (Elizabeth), of Nippenose Valley, Thomas W. (Ethel), of Williamsport, and Donald E. (Debra), of Montgomery; four grandchildren, Levi, Bryan, Alivia, and Brooklyn; and his dog, Mindy.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park with military honors accorded. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.
