The 98 Lycoming County mortgage books referenced in Saturday's edition were transferred by county government to the Thomas T. Taber Thomas, 858 W. Fourth St., in the 1970s, according to Gary Parks, museum director. He said the museum held the books with county government's consent. The county and the museum entered into a custodial agreement for the books in 2002, he said.
