Yvonne Marie Blakely, affectionately known as Mimi, 78, of Williamsport, went to be with our Lord Jan. 11, 2014.
Yvonne was born in Jersey Shore, on Jan. 22, 1935, daughter of Merle and Adeline Hersh. Mimi loved basketball and enjoyed word search puzzles. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Yvonne unconditionally loved her family and positively impacted all who knew her. She was a member and faithful attendee of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Williamsport. Mimi dedicated her life to serving her daughter and raising her grandchildren.
She is survived by her only child, Helen M. Ammerman, of Williamsport. She has five grandsons: David (Rebecca) Blakely, Jason Blakely, Dustin (Shantel) Frey, Daniel (Nichol) Ammerman, and Samuel Ammerman and one granddaughter, Adrienne (David) Repass. David Blakely provided her five great-grandchildren, David, Joshua, Timothy, Rachel and Sarah, of Washington. Jason provided her a great-grandson, Aaron Blakely, of Germany. Dustin provided two great-grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Frey, of Tacoma, Wash. Adrienne Repass gave Mimi a great-grandson, Isaac Blake Repass, and they live in Richmond, Va. Daniel Ammerman provided three great-granddaughters, Salah, Emma and Isabella who all live in Montoursville. Samuel Ammerman provided two great-grandchildren, Aliyah Ammerman, of Danville and Liam Ammerman, of Texas.
Yvonne was also survived by her brother, Warren Hersh and four sisters, Alberta Rice, of Jersey Shore, Eva Harer, of Williamsport, Helen Beaver, of Watsontown, and Alice DeLong, of California.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1730 Four Mile Drive, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at 7 p.m. for all who would like to celebrate in the life of Yvonne "Mimi" Blakely.
Mimi lived to love and serve her family. She will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts. Until we meet again ...
