Woman charged with stealing
ELKLAND - Dorothy L. Wyble, 66, of 19 Center St., was charged by state police with forgery and theft after she allegedly took money from a non-profit organization with which she was working.
According to documents filed at Senior District Judge C. Roger McRae's office, Wyble, who was working with the Tioga Old Home Days organization in Tioga, signed her name on two checks for deposit into the victim's personal account, but instead took the money for herself.
She also allegedly wrote six other checks to herself for a total of $2,095 during 2012.
Because she failed to pay bills for the organization Katherine Button said she began getting bills and a cancellation notice for the insurance held by the organization, and checked to find there only was $36 in the account.
She was issued a summons to appear for a Jan. 28 preliminary hearing.
Sale of heroin alleged
ELKLAND - Cole M. Mack, 20, of 13 Berry St., Tioga, was charged by Lawrenceville police after he allegedly sold heroin to a confidential informant.
According to documents filed at Senior District Judge C. Roger McRae's office, Mack sold two bags of heroin on Nov. 3 to the informant for $50.
He was charged with manufacture, delivery and possession of a controlled substance.
He was issued a summons to appear at a Jan. 28 preliminary hearing.
Bad check charge filed
ELKLAND - Zia U. Bhati, 42, of 352 Bayard St., Williamsport, was charged by state police with bad checks for allegedly passing a bad check for food to supply her restaurant.
According to documents filed at District Judge C. Roger McRae's office, Bhati wrote a check for $5,549 to Keck's Food Service, 2796 Route 328, Millerton, Jackson Township, for food items for Riverfront Steak and Seafood, 610 Antlers Lane, Williamsport, on June 25, but the check was returned for insufficient funds.
She was issued a summons to appear at a Feb. 4 preliminary hearing.
7 accused of DUI
ELKLAND - Seven people were charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants recently.
According to documents filed at Senior District Judge C. Roger McRae's office, each was issued a summons to appear.
Colton I. Roe, 36, of 502 Thornbottom Road, Middlebury Center, by state police following a traffic stop on Locey Creek Road, Osceola Township Nov. 21.
Eric S. Webster, 28, of 34 Corky Road, Wellsboro, by state police following a traffic stop on Route 287 Tioga Township, Dec. 4.
Gordon E. Holley, 26, of 86 Aztec Lane, Tioga, by state police after he crashed his car on Route 287, Tioga Township, June 16.
Tyler L. LaPoint, 18, of 282 Mann Hill Road, Tioga, by state police following a traffic stop on Junction Crossroad, Lawrence Township, Dec. 5.
Brett M Cervoni, 21, of Addison, N.Y., by Elkland police following a traffic stop in the borough Dec. 21.
Tammy S. Comfort, 43, of Woodhull, N.Y., by Elkland police after she crashed her car in the borough Oct. 13.

Man charged with slicing tires
ELKLAND - Cody M. Dibble, 21, of Addison, N.Y., was charged by Lawrence Township police with criminal mischief recently with slashing tires at a local business.
According to documents filed at District Judge C. Roger McRae's office, Dibble went to Taft's Disposal, 18986 Route 287, Lawrenceville on May 10, and sliced six tires on three work trucks, causing a total of $1,399 damage.
